The game has struggled with PC performance since launch. English Steam reviews number 77,913 and average out to a “mixed” score; many of the negative reviews list performance problems as their reason for marking the game “Not Recommended.” Despite that, critics have praised the core experience. Players and modders have already been investigating causes and workarounds. A Reddit user highlighted that owning more DLC appeared to improve performance on some systems, and community fixes surfaced quickly. An independent write-up documented tests that point to DLC ownership differences as a likely factor, that analysis is available in a follow-up article about installing every DLC reportedly fixing performance here.
The upcoming patch targets Steam-specific processing and adds options to reduce load, which may help users who have seen frame-rate drops, stutters, or high CPU usage. Capcom has not published a full changelog in the update notice, so how much this will alter real-world performance will become clear once players test the patch on a range of PC configurations.
