Modern Warfare’s servers are under fire! Thousands of fans trying to hook up onto the servers at the same time with no other response than “Connection Failed.” Infinity Ward hasn’t responded to this matter, but will most likely do so very soon. For that reason, we would advise everyone to keep an eye on Infinity Ward’s official Twitter Profile.
The launch occurred around 20 minutes ago, with the very first Day One patch being installed. The patch required a game restart for which led to server collapse. There’s still no response by Infinity Ward, except the clarification on the Xbox One X issue given before a couple of minutes.
The latest tweet on their Twitter Profile is the following:
We are seeing a small number of Xbox One X players experience crashes with Modern Warfare. We are already working on a fix. Thanks for your patience and feedback. We will keep you posted.

Update 1: It seems like Activision is responsible for the server breakdown, as they’re tracking the issue for this cause. Hopefully, they are going to provide a fix as soon as possible. This is their latest tweet in this regard.

Update 2: Players have started establishing a connection to the MW servers, however, the main issue is still lingering across the globe.
We are continuing to investigate the issue related to the huge volume of new players connecting to Modern Warfare. Players that are in game should be able to continue playing without interruption. We will continue to provide updates as quickly as we can.

Does this require server maintenance or this is a simple server breakdown due to a large number of users trying to connect at the same time? We’ll have to wait for a little bit longer and see the resolution provided by Infinity Ward.
From my standpoint, I have one and only one thing to address to Infinity Ward. Come on IW!!! I need a bit of action before I head to bed!
