Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is due to get ranked matchmaking somewhere in 2023. Ranked game mode or skill-based matchmaking will allow players to outsmart themselves a battle and attempt to reach the top 250 leaderboards. Yes, leaderboards are planned to arrive too, and this time, they will be escorted with competitive rewards.
On Wednesday, Treyarch Studios, one of the developers behind the Call of Duty franchise revealed the following information:
Ranked Play arrives in 2023, and we’re working with our partners to deliver:
- Competitive Modes
- Ranked Skill Divisions
- Visible Skill Ratings
- Top 250 Leaderboars
- Competitive Rewards
- More details to come
This was posted on their official Twitter profile, so it’s not a joke. In the meantime, the developer revealed that players can throw down in the CDL Moshpit, which arrival is deemed for the start of Season 1. More details about the launch will be revealed shortly.
As Ranked play goes forward, the developer will begin retiring the old Black Ops Cold War’s League Play and Vanguard’s Ranked Play. That will occur during this month, or more precisely, on November 16, when Season 1 is expected to arrive.
