Mists of Pandaria Classic just received its initial wave of hotfixes, and if you’re diving back into Azeroth’s nostalgic expansion, there’s some stuff you might wanna know. From better spawn rates on annoying quests to early access to Season 12 PvP gear, plus some dungeon tweaks, this patch shakes up the experience a bit.
First, two quests that gave players headaches, “They’re So Thorny!” and “Forensic Science”, now have significantly higher spawn and item drop rates. That should cut down on the grind, which is always welcome.
Now, about PvP: the Season 12 Honor Vendor has arrived earlier than it did in the original Mists of Pandaria. Players will be able to spend Honor on gear sooner, even before the Arena Season officially kicks off next week. Interestingly, some weapons that never appeared in the original Season 12 show up here as purchasable items. The developers mentioned these “Dreadful Gladiator” weapons were never available back then, but serve as a good stepping stone for PvP. However, don’t expect to obtain Motes of Harmony from Honor or Conquest just yet; those will be introduced in a future patch.
Other quality of life changes include fixing the player flight speed reduction in Netherwing Ledge, and the Kor’kron War Wolf mount now shows up with the correct color in the Mount Journal. Nice touch for mount collectors.
Dungeon Fixes
- Siege of Boralus and Bloodmaul Slag Mines items now display the right item level in the Dungeon Journal preview.
- Jade Temple got a couple of fixes:
- Wise Mari’s bubble should burst properly after you kill Corrupted Living Water, no more stuck bubbles messing up the fight.
- Completing Temple of the Jade Serpent on Heroic will now actually give you the achievement as intended.
All in all, these hotfixes show Blizzard’s commitment to smoothing out some rough spots in Mists of Pandaria Classic. Early PvP gear access is a curious move, how will that affect the preseason? Will it shift the usual power balance? We’ll see. Meanwhile, those dungeon bugs were kinda annoying, so it’s good to see them addressed.
