Minecraft is about to get a neat addition that’s going to please anyone who loves organizing their base or decorating their home. The next update will introduce shelves, which let you display items without digging through chests all the time.
From a snapshot recently shared on the Minecraft website, we learned that shelves can hold three items each and come in various materials so that you can match them to your base’s style. Whether you prefer cherry wood or spruce, there should be something that fits your vibe. It’s kinda nice to have something other than paintings to decorate with, finally, don’t you think?
These shelves also interact with redstone, which adds a few handy functions. If a shelf is powered, you can swap out all three items at once instead of one by one. Plus, placing powered shelves next to each other will connect them into a single, extended shelf. You’ll be able to swap all items on connected shelves with a single button press. That’s a time-saver for sure.
There’s also some news about the Copper Golem. Beyond helping with base organization, it now has a decorative side. Over time, the Golem will oxidize and eventually turn into a statue that you can pose in four different ways. You can change the pose by interacting with it. If you want to get it back to work, waxing the Golem will bring it back to life. It’s a nice touch for those who like a bit of flair in their base.
Sadly, there’s no official name or release date for this update yet. These features are currently available for testing in the Bedrock Edition, and Java Edition players will also be able to test them soon. So, patience is the key here… but I’m guessing lots of players will be happy once shelves arrive.
What do you think? Will shelves change how you organize your Minecraft base? I’m curious if this will finally stop the endless chest digging. Let me know in the comments below!
