Nintendo has officially confirmed that Minecraft’s default character, Steve, will be coming to Super Smash Bros as a part of the Smash Bros Ultimate Fighter Vol. 2. Along with Steve, players will be able to swap their skin into Alex, the original female character for Minecraft, which was added in Minecraft’s 1.8 updates. There will also be Minecraft stages, where players will battle it out to the death.

This, of course, caused a lot of hype around the Internet since Minecraft is perhaps the most popular game right now, but it also brought a lot of nostalgia to Minecraft’s veterans. More details about Steve and Alex will be revealed on October 3rd, 16:30 CEST, when Nintendo will host a live-stream showcasing Steve’s abilities, combat style, the DLC’s release date, and more.
Steve will be the 7th DLC Character to come to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and perhaps the unique one. There isn’t any lore in Minecraft, and its combat isn’t too action-packed, but Steve is not to be underestimated. In survival mode, where his abilities are limited, he can carry all different types of heavy objects (like diamond blocks, furnaces, iron blocks, etc.) in his inventory while still sprinting.
