Midnight’s March 31 hotfixes land with class buffs, raid nerfs, and housing decor fixes

Blizzard's March 31 World of Warcraft hotfix batch includes PvE and PvP tuning, Mythic raid changes, trinket updates, and fixes for Warband housing decor and professions.

Blizzard’s World of Warcraft March 31 Midnight hotfixes were live on reset day, bringing a wide tuning pass across classes, raids, items, PvP, professions, and housing decor. The update also followed the same general direction as the March 31 class tuning changes, but this batch went further with raid-specific nerfs and item adjustments.

Classes get another pass

The class section focused on damage bumps for several specs that were lagging in PvE, while also cleaning up a handful of bugs. Frost Death Knights received a 4% damage increase outside PvP, Feral Druids got a 3% boost with Frantic Frenzy damage trimmed by 8% in PvE, and Beast Mastery and Survival Hunters each received a 4% damage increase. Arcane Mages also saw a bigger Sunfury adjustment, with Burden of Power now raising Arcane Blast damage by 25% and Arcane Pulse damage by 15%.

Blizzard also fixed several spell and talent problems, including Hunter’s Mark stacking, Mistweaver Monk’s Serene Vitality, Lightforged Blessing for Paladins, and starter build issues for Destruction Warlocks. For Shadow Priests, the changes were far more aggressive. Shadow Word: Death damage increased by 80%, while Mind Blast and Void Blast were reduced by 10%, and several Shadowy Apparition-related effects were pushed up to support more multi-target pressure.

Arms Warriors also gained more damage in both PvE and PvP. Blizzard increased Execute damage by 20% and Overpower damage by 10% outside PvP, while the PvP side of the spec got an Ignore Pain absorption bump and a stronger Battle Stance slow reduction. More class-specific PvP tuning landed across Restoration Druid, Marksmanship Hunter, Arcane and Fire Mage, Mistweaver and Windwalker Monk, Paladin, Subtlety Rogue, Shaman, Fury Warrior, and the rest of the listed specs.

Raid bosses and Mythic encounters were trimmed back

The raid section hit several encounters across Algeth’ar Academy, Maisara Caverns, and The Voidspire. In Mythic difficulty, Fallen King Salhadaar had Shadow Fracture cast time increased from 9 to 12 seconds, while Lightblinded Vanguard saw Avenger’s Shield retarget from 8 players down to 4, along with lower Tyr’s Wrath healing absorb and reduced Sacred Toll damage.

Crown of the Cosmos also received cleanup for a few encounter bugs, including Void Expulsion placement, duplicate Ranger Captain’s Marks, and a spell-reflect interaction with Grasp of Emptiness. Outside the raid instance, Skyreach got a fix for spells that could target players not in combat.

Items, decor, and profession fixes

The item pass touched several trinkets and on-use effects. Crucible of Erratic Energies had its Leech reduced by 50%, while Light of the Cosmic Crescendo, Whisper of the Duskwraith, Echo of L’ura, and Radiant Sunstone all received healing increases. Shadow of the Empyrean Requiem damage also went up by 20%.

Housing players got a few welcome fixes too. Rutaani Sporepod, Rustic Harandar Planter, Grand Aethercharged Crystal, and Kafa Press were changed to Bind to Warband, and the Postmaster mailed the missing Chimaerus and Crown of the Cosmos encounter trophy decor to eligible characters. Blizzard also fixed problems that blocked some players from consuming Gleaming Sunmote to unlock alternate armor appearances, along with a separate issue affecting alternate shoulder appearances for Druids.

Profession changes were smaller but still useful. Gems should now appear more often when prospecting Midnight ore, and Recipe: Vicious Thalassian Flask of Honor is no longer Bind on Pickup.

For players following WoW’s recent tuning cycle, this hotfix wave fits into a busy stretch of adjustments across both raids and PvP. If you’ve been tracking the broader class balance changes, our earlier coverage of the March 31 tuning pass is available here.

These hotfixes touched a little bit of everything, and the raid changes in particular should be easy to feel right away. Share your thoughts in the comments, and follow us on X, Bluesky, YouTube, Instagram.
