On August 21st, Xbox revealed an all-new way for gamers to customize and style their Xbox Series X consoles without shelling out for a unique edition device.
Taking a fresh approach to console aesthetics, Microsoft has launched the wraps as an alternative to purchasing unique or limited edition consoles. Monique Chatterjee, Senior Design Director, highlighted that the wraps are affordable and eco-friendly. With three designs, gamers can align their console’s appearance with their personality and preferences.
The Starfield edition, inspired by the game, and two camo designs, the Arctic Camo and Mineral Camo, give players multiple choices for showcasing their console.
The Starfield-inspired wrap, launching on October 18th for $49.99, transforms the Xbox Series X into a futuristic avionics module. Echoing the game’s theme, it highlights internal components through outlined panels and game-related graphics. The wrap isn’t just about looks – its white high-tech feel with tactile surface graphics offers an immersive experience for players. The wrap’s closure showcases a bronze metallic Constellation insignia, further embedding the Starfield universe’s aesthetics.
Microsoft also allows players to camouflage their consoles with the Arctic and Mineral Camo designs. The Arctic Camo uses a muted grey and white palette, while the Mineral Camo bursts with modern blues and purples. Both will be available on November 10th for $44.99, with the Mineral Camo also launching in Europe on the same day.
The wraps aren’t just aesthetically pleasing; they’re functional too. Designed exclusively for the Xbox Series X, the wraps ensure optimal console performance. The design allows vents to stay unobstructed, while tiny feet at the wrap’s base ensure the air flows freely through the device.
Constructed with solid core panels and high-tech fabric finishes, the wraps fit around the console snugly. Secured with a hook and loop enclosure, the internal part of the wraps features silicone designs to keep them in place, ensuring both style and stability.
