Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is almost here, launching later this month. Yet, its online multiplayer mode won’t be ready at launch, which might surprise some players hoping to jump into multiplayer right after finishing the campaign.

Named “Fox Hunt,” this multiplayer experience will arrive in Fall 2025. Konami has shared a few details about what to expect, giving a glimpse of how it will work.

Fox Hunt Multiplayer Mode Details

Fox Hunt is described as a hide-and-seek style online mode that stays true to Metal Gear’s core themes of camouflage and survival. It’s an original multiplayer experience built around these elements, preparing to create tension and excitement.

  • It draws inspiration from the sneaking rule featured in Metal Gear Online, a fan-favorite mode from earlier entries.
  • The gameplay focuses on sneaking mechanics iconic to the series, enhanced with new graphical improvements to intensify the hide-and-seek atmosphere.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launches on August 28, 2025. Players who get the Digital Deluxe edition will be able to start 48 hours early, which is a nice bonus. This re-release isn’t just a graphical update; it includes new voice lines and gameplay tweaks that might change how you approach the game.

Curious to see how Fox Hunt will feel in practice? I am, too. It’s not every day you get a Metal Gear multiplayer mode focused so heavily on sneaking and survival, but with a hide-and-seek twist. Yikes, that sounds tense!
