Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater launched this week, and its $200 Collector’s Edition is arriving into players’ hands with a fair amount of backlash. Early shipments reveal that the statue and diorama arrived damaged, and worse, the Naked Snake bust appears markedly sloppy compared to international variants.
The Collector’s Edition diorama was intended to be a standout piece for the Virtuous Mission sequence; however, many buyers report that the vegetation pieces come unattached and parts arrive broken. Social posts highlight a sculpt that reads as poorly executed for the price, with several images showing a face that many say barely resembles Naked Snake – ugh, that’s rough.
One of the earliest viral images of the bust came via an X post that shows the facial detail in complete relief.

The EU/Asia Collector’s Pack uses a different bust that looks closer to what fans expected, and some suggest importing the alternative if it can be found for a reasonable sum. Below is the European display that several users have pointed to for comparison:
Despite the merchandise issues, reviews have been generally positive about the remake itself; one in-depth review called it one of the most faithful remakes of the franchise’s older entries, and recommended playing the game regardless of Collector’s Edition troubles. The review can be read on the title’s review page.
The game is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and the first title update addressing crashing issues is already out for players who need fixes. The Collector’s Edition thread also links back to the main tag for the game on ConsolePCGaming for general discussion and information.
Who signed off on that sculpture at quality control? It’s a strange miss for a product at this price point, and collectors are rightly vocal about returns and refunds. Dang – for some fans the cost simply doesn’t match what arrives in the box.
