Liquid Meow Games, a small student team led by He Qian, has released Messy Up on March 5, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and the Windows Store. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and offers local couch co-op for up to three players who take on the role of troublemaking pets or the beleaguered Owner trying to keep the house intact.

The project began as a 72-hour Game Jam prototype in 2021. The prototype won a Best Technology Award and was later rebuilt over six months into a full 3D game. A short gameplay video shared during development reached over a million views across platforms, and the 3D version went on to collect multiple awards at game competitions before this console and Windows Store release.

Messy Up mixes chaotic physics and lighthearted objectives. Players control cats and dogs with distinct abilities and playstyles. Pets can work together to pull pranks, rescue captured companions, and use anything in the environment as a tool of destruction. Props explicitly mentioned by the team include fans, soccer balls, doors, and takeout food. Level themes include the home, the beach, the office, and a castle. Modes and activities called out by the developer include story missions, parkour challenges, and an Arcade Mode for pick-up-and-play sessions.

AI teammates are available for solo play. The release notes from the store listing make clear that you can either cause mayhem as pets or defend the furniture as the Owner, and that players can build and customize their own homes in-game. Collectibles include photos, flags, trophies, certificates, keychains, and other rewards that can be used to decorate. Publisher information appearing on the Windows Store entry lists E-Home Entertainment Development Company Ltd. The store block shows a price entry of $7.99 alongside $6.39 as displayed on the page.

If you want a quick start, try learning to dodge and use props to block the Owner. Parkour challenges offer a different rhythm than the story missions, and Arcade Mode is a good place to experiment with new pets. Unlockable maps include the beach, the castle, and the office, and each map introduces its own hazards and tools. Which pet would you pick first, a trash-tossing cat or a couch-chewing dog? Messy Up

"Messy UP" is a cute multiplayer game where pets destroy homes to grab the owner's attention. Due to the owner's busy schedule, they lack time for their pets. Players control the pets or play as the owner to catch them in this delightful mischief-filled game!
