The developer of Megabonk posted to Steam asking players to throw the game a nomination in this years Steam Awards and even picked a category to start with. In the short, cheeky message the post opens with a direct ask: “Do you wanna nominate Megabonk? 😳👉👈” and follows with the suggested category, “I didn’t really know what category to go for, so we’re just doing Best Games You Suck At. Because maybe him skill issue.”
The post also suggests players could nominate Megabonk for other categories and explicitly names Best Game on Steam Deck as an option. The developer signs off with thanks and a brief tease about future content: “Also new update coming soon, I’m cooking up some fun stuff! 🙂”
That Steam post is the latest public nudge to the community after a noisy few weeks for the project. We previously reported Megabonk withdrew from The Game Awards 2025 Best Debut Indie Game nomination because previous releases under other studio names affected eligibility, so the team is now focusing on community-driven recognition like the Steam Awards.
The tone of the Steam message is light and self-aware, aimed at players who enjoy the game’s chaotic head-to-head bouncing combat and want to give it a push. A nomination in a community-voted category could raise the game’s profile, and the developers’ promise of an update gives players something concrete to look forward to while voting windows are open.
