Mega Rayquaza returns to Pokémon GO raid rotation on Saturday, October 18, 2025, running from 2:00 to 5:00 PM local time. Trainers will see higher shiny odds, extra free Raid Passes from Gym Photo Discs, and a temporary increase to the Remote Raid Pass limit.
CP ranges and counters
Rayquaza will be caught at the following CP after a successful raid: 2102 to 2191 CP with no weather boost, and 2627 to 2739 CP when boosted by Windy weather. Ice types deal double damage, making them the top counters, with Fairy, Rock, and Dragon also effective while offering resistance to many of Rayquaza’s moves.
Event bonuses
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Mega Rayquaza.
- Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs, for a total of six free passes.
- Remote Raid Pass limit temporarily increased to 20 from Friday, October 17 at 5:00 PM until Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 PM PDT.
Timed Research
Timed Research tied to the event will be available and will reward a Meteorite on completion. You will need 400 Mega Energy to Mega Evolve Rayquaza, and its signature move Dragon Ascent can only be learned by using a Meteorite.
