Marvel Rivals, with its recent move, is going to surprise fans by discussing cross-progression, which is something many players have wanted since the game’s launch last year. The Closed Alpha Test (CAT) was PC-only and included exclusive rewards, leaving console players out of those bonuses. That’s why cross-progression has become a frequent request.
It’s good to know these plans are still in the early stages. Players can join the conversation through the new Marvel Rivals Discord, where an “Ask the Devs” event is running from August 8 to August 22. Here, players can submit ideas and questions about cross-progression, helping prepare for what might come next.
Implementing cross-progression isn’t expected to happen soon. Guangguang previously mentioned it takes about a year to develop new characters, which gives some idea of the time involved for significant updates. Cross-progression might not be as complex, but it still won’t be a quick fix.
It’s encouraging to see Netease paying close attention to player feedback through this event. Maybe this will lead to more chances for players to have a say in the game’s future. I wonder if cross-progression will end up being the feature that finally brings the PC and console player bases closer together?
What do you think? Should cross-progression be a top priority for Marvel Rivals?
