Lost Soul Aside’s Price Tag on PS5 and PC Might Hurt Its Success

Lost Soul Aside, the upcoming character action game from creator Yang Bing, is preparing to be an AA title rather than a full-blown AAA experience. Yet Sony plans to sell it for the full price of £59.99/$59.99 on PS5 and PC. This pricing might turn out to be the game’s biggest hurdle, according to those who’ve had early hands-on time.

Content creator Lunatic Ignus, who played the game alongside Chinese journalists at an event ahead of ChinaJoy 2025, shared some concerns about the title. The demo covered roughly two hours of gameplay, including the opening chapter with several boss fights and combat encounters.

We’ve seen some recent footage ourselves and were impressed by the visuals and scope. Still, the feel of combat is crucial for a character action game, and some of the moves looked a bit lacking in impact and polish.

Interestingly, Lunatic Ignus added that there’s more to the game than initially expected, comparing it somewhat to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Apparently, players will be able to explore a town with shops and NPCs, adding depth beyond just combat.

After several delays, Lost Soul Aside is now scheduled to launch on 29th August. Whether players will bite at full price or wait for reviews and discounts remains to be seen. It might be one of those games that’s better experienced on sale, especially if the gameplay doesn’t fully justify the AAA cost.

What do you think? Is this a game you’ll pick up day one, or will you wait and see how it shapes up? Let’s discuss in the comments below.
