Lords of the Fallen just got a patch that might bring relief to players who prefer to avoid PvP encounters. HexWorks released update 1.081 on July 25 across all platforms, giving you the option to disable PvP invasions entirely. This update also introduces new rewards for those who keep PvP enabled and enjoy the excitement of battle.
PvP Now Optional, Disabled by Default
If you’ve found PvP invasions in Lords of the Fallen a bit too intense or frustrating, you’ll probably welcome this change. The update allows you to toggle PvP invasions on or off within the gameplay settings, with the default setting set to off. You can now view Mournestead without worrying about sudden invasions from other players, unless you choose to.
For those who choose to keep PvP on, HexWorks rewards your bravery. Victory in PvP battles will now grant new exclusive armour sets and guaranteed loot drops, adding a nice incentive to engage in combat.
New Armour Sets and Loot for PvP Victors
Winning PvP fights will reward you with one of two new armour sets:
- First Luminary Guardsman Armour – for defenders who hold their ground and protect their realm.
- Crimson Pursuivant Armour – for invaders who relentlessly pursue glory and Vigor.
These sets are rare drops only available to those who come out on top in PvP encounters. Alongside these, PvP winners will also get one guaranteed item from the following list:
- Large Deralium Shard
- Deralium Chunk
- Heavenly Vial
- Vestige Moth
- Vigor Moth
So, while the armour is probably what you’ll really be after, these other items add some nice variety to the spoils.
What’s Next?
HexWorks mentioned they’re keeping an eye on community feedback about PvP balance and player behavior. It’s likely that we’ll see further updates in the near future to refine things further. Meanwhile, Lords of the Fallen 2 is in development and is said to feature a more western-style storytelling approach.
Are you planning to keep PvP on or off now that you have the choice?
