Season 12 adds a Killstreak system that rewards longer kill chains with extra experience and seasonal reputation. The fastest progression comes from combining Killstreaks with Helltide content and the Slaughterhouse mechanic so you earn XP and farm Bloodied items at the same time.
How to farm Slaughterhouses for Bloodied gear
Slaughterhouses are instanced runs that let you briefly assume the role of The Butcher, and they are central to Bloodied-item farming. Follow these steps:
- Collect Slaughterhouse keys. Keys drop during Helltide activities. Accumulate keys while you clear Helltide zones to open Slaughterhouses between Helltide windows.
- Run a Slaughterhouse and become The Butcher. Inside the Slaughterhouse you can kill guards and every enemy in sight. Each kill grants Fresh Meat, the currency used to obtain Bloodied gear.
- Trade Fresh Meat for Bloodied items. Take Fresh Meat to the Butcher vendor in Gea Kul and select the weapon or armor slot you want, for example swords or gloves. Rarity appears to be random, although higher difficulty tiers such as Torment may increase the chance to receive Ancestral-quality items.
Helltide Shrines and bonus Killstreak XP
Helltide adds another path to becoming The Butcher without spending a Slaughterhouse key. At Shrines of Slaughter, handing in Meaty Offerings will temporarily transform you into The Butcher. While transformed you should focus on building Killstreaks to multiply experience and seasonal reputation gains. All kills during the transformation also drop Fresh Meat, which feeds the Bloodied grind.
You can optimize shrine runs by clearing Helltide chests on a lower difficulty first to gather Meaty Offerings quickly. After collecting enough offerings, switch to the highest difficulty you have unlocked before activating the shrine. The transformation makes your character unusually strong and hard to kill, so running the shrine on a higher difficulty yields substantially more XP. On Penitent difficulty, for example, experience rewards are roughly 175% higher.
The farming rotation
Use a simple repeating loop for maximum gains: run Helltide activities and prioritize Shrines of Slaughter while collecting Slaughterhouse keys and Meaty Offerings. When Helltide ends, open Slaughterhouses and farm Fresh Meat as The Butcher. Spend that Fresh Meat at the Butcher vendor in Gea Kul on the item slots you need, then return to Helltide when it restarts. This cycle simultaneously pushes character XP, seasonal reputation, and Bloodied-item acquisition. Because Slaughterhouses and Shrines both convert kills into Fresh Meat while amplifying Killstreak XP, this setup remains one of the fastest ways in Season 12 to level, raise seasonal reputation, and target Bloodied gear.
