Resident Evil Village, Capcom’s latest horror trip, is now three years old. I know, time flies when you’re getting scared out of your wits. With all the leaks and whispers about Resident Evil 9, the hype has been building like a snowball rolling downhill. But it seems like we’re not getting that big reveal as soon as we thought.
Dusk Golem, the insider who’s been dropping breadcrumbs all over the place, had us all twisted up saying Resident Evil 9’s release and reveal were delayed. Then he did a 180 and told us it was all good, aiming for a May announcement and a January release.

But now, the pendulum has swung back. According to his latest tweets, Resident Evil 9 has hit an internal delay. Yeah, you heard me right. Capcom isn’t going to announce the game this summer. They’ve pushed it back to late 2025 or even 2026. That’s a long wait, folks.
Leaks have painted Resident Evil 9 as a behemoth in the making, supposedly having the longest development cycle in the series’ history. We’re talking since 2018, people, bigger than any Resident Evil game before it. They’re pulling out all the stops for this one.
But that’s not all. Dusk Golem also spilled the beans on some other Resident Evil projects. Capcom is reportedly working on remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil – Code: Veronica. For all you die-hard fans, that’s some good news to chew on. However, don’t hold your breath for remakes of Resident Evil 5 and the original Resident Evil. According to our insider, those aren’t on Capcom’s to-do list.
So, there you have it. Resident Evil 9 is going to take its sweet time getting here. In the meantime, we’ll have some remakes to keep us busy. Stay tuned, folks. This roller coaster is far from over.
