Leaked Posts Suggest Big PS5 Price Hikes Could Be Announced on March 27

Posts on X claim the PS5 Slim would rise to €649.99, the PS5 Pro to €899.99 and the PS Portal to €249.99, with an announcement expected on March 27.

Social posts on X suggested Sony may announce price increases for PlayStation hardware, with one account saying the news would land on 27 March 2026. The claim began with a French-language post by the account @GyoJvfr, which warned of a “drastic” rise in PlayStation prices and put specific figures on the increases. The numbers circulating on social media were:

PS5 Slim

  • From €549.99 to €649.99

PS5 Pro

  • From €799.99 to €899.99

PS Portal

  • From €219.99 to €249.99

A Spanish account, @eXtas1stv, posted a message saying they had “corroborated” the report and that it was “100% true,” adding that an official announcement would come the following day. Those posts remain unverified at the time of publication.

Industry chatter has linked potential hardware-price moves to higher component costs in recent months. Even so, the scale of the figures being shared on X would represent a notable shift in regional pricing for PlayStation hardware if they prove accurate.

These reports should be treated as a rumor until confirmation arrives from Sony or an official retail listing. The social posts referenced above are available for review at the links in this story.
