The talk surrounding The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster has reached a fever pitch, thanks to recent leaks revealing its potential file size. Fans eagerly await an official announcement, which could come at any moment. It’s not the first time we talk about this, so it shouldn’t be that of a surprise at all. But recently, data miners have revealed that this remastered version of the classic game will take up around 120 GB on Steam, a significant increase from the original’s modest 4.6 GB.
According to insights shared by XOXLeak, if accurate, this would mean the new iteration is about 3921.74% larger than its predecessor released in 2005. This considerable bump in size aligns with expectations for current games built using Unreal Engine 5, which requires more resources and storage.

While Bethesda and Microsoft have not confirmed the existence of this remaster—indeed, they haven’t uttered a word about it—the community’s high hopes continue to grow. Players have taken to social media and even discovered hints on both Bethesda’s website and search engines like Bing regarding this project.
