Konami’s Earnings Call Hints at Multiple Silent Hill ‘Remakes’

The chilling allure of the Silent Hill series is something that fans have cherished for years. First, Konami broke the news last October about Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake for the PS5. But recent developments suggest that the story doesn’t end there.

According to the latest earnings results, Konami used the term “remakes” when discussing the Silent Hill projects. This plural usage has fans and critics alike wondering if there’s more in store than just the remake of the second game. Could we be seeing more of the franchise being brought to current-gen platforms soon?

This speculation is based on VGC’s recent coverage, where it was highlighted that the Japanese publisher discussed plans to revive the series. In addition to the known Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team, there seems to be a hint of other “remakes” being planned.

Konami’s statement also shed light on their work on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, aiming to bring back the beloved entry with updated graphics. But it’s the potential for additional Silent Hill remakes that has truly grabbed attention.

Meanwhile, Bloober Team seems to be on the verge of completing the Silent Hill 2 remake, leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5. They’re not just stopping at graphical updates but also revisiting the camera angles and reimagining the combat system.

The Silent Hill universe is expanding in other ways too. Projects like Silent Hill Townfall by Scottish studio NoCode and Silent Hill F, a new narrative set in 1960s Japan, are in the pipeline. Additionally, the launch of Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive streaming series, has added another layer to the franchise’s evolving storyline.
