Is Prince of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake Ever Going To Release?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has just bumped another roadblock. The game will have to go through another pair of hands, a relatively new one that will ensure a slow and robust development. This is not the first trouble the title has ever faced. Instead, it was delayed multiple times before. On Tuesday, Ubisoft announced that the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will have to go through Ubisoft Montreal, instead of the so far Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai.

The official announcement came from Prince of Persia’s official Twitter Profile.

Hello, Prince of Persia fans!

The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal, the very birth place of the epic Sands of Time trilogy.

This decision is an important step and the team, building upon the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, will now take the time they need to regroup on the scope of the game to deliver you the best experience for this remake of an all-time classic, when it’s ready.

We want to thank you all for your continuous support and patience throughout the development. Rest assured, that we will update you on the progress in a future update.

The irony in this is that people have already forgotten about this game. It has been so long, with multiple delays and now a development swap that would definitely take a while until it goes gold. Back in December 2020, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was delayed to March 18. In February 2021, Ubisoft jumped in to share another sad announcement that the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be impacted by another delay.

With multiple delays, the Sands of Time remake will probably have to go through various other revisions done by Ubisoft Montreal before reaching a final release candidate. They haven’t been transparent on its current progress, so no one knows how much time Ubisoft will need to get there.
