As a previously hardcore Fortnite player, I was excited to hear the recent rumors about a possible first-person mode being added to the game. While Fortnite has always been a third-person shooter, adding a first-person option could bring a new level of immersion to the gameplay experience. This, however, is not the first time we have seen such a leak provided by famous data miners, so I am skeptical about its potential outcome.
Of course, many questions remain about how this new mode will work. Will it be available in all game modes or just in No Build mode? The addition of a first-person mode could be a significant evolution for Fortnite, which has always been a third-person shooter. While the game’s core building mechanics have previously made a first-person mode difficult, the recent popularity of the Zero Build mode may have opened the door for this type of gameplay.
Over on Twitter, @ShiinaBR, has explicitly stated that first-person is coming throughout Chapter 4, Season 2. @HYPEX has also noted the same. You can find the tweet below.

I’m still intrigued by the possibilities of a first-person mode in Fortnite. It could be a way to attract new players who are more accustomed to traditional first-person shooters, and it could also bring back some former players who may have lost interest in the game.
While I enjoyed the No Build mode for some time, I eventually drifted away from the game. It remains to be seen whether a first-person mode will be enough to bring me back or if it will be more of a novelty that I try out briefly before moving on.
