Introducing ‘Shiver’, a New Indie Survival Horror Adventure

Explore the chilling world of Shiver, a captivating new survival horror game.

Team Nocebo has revealed their latest creation, and it looks stunning. The upcoming survival horror game Shiver promises to envelop players in an icy grip as they explore treacherous weather and mysterious environments. Let’s explore what makes this title so intriguing.

In Shiver, you step into the shoes of Hannah, a brave soul caught amid a relentless blizzard while searching for her lost sister. Now, imagine that kind of tension; it’s heart-wrenching and exhilarating! Players will have access to melee weapons and firearms to fend off terrifying creatures that seem to emerge from the ice. Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned fight against frostbitten monsters?

What caught my attention were the physics-based events sprinkled throughout the gameplay. I’ve always had a soft spot for games that incorporate realistic physics, it adds an extra layer of immersion. While I don’t expect groundbreaking mechanics (let’s be honest; most will probably be scripted), it’s definitely better than just watching things unfold without any interaction.

It’s worth noting how remarkable indie games can look these days, thanks to engines like Unreal Engine 5. Shiver and another intriguing title called Deepest Fear showcase how much creativity can flourish outside mainstream studios.

Before we wrap up our chat about Shiver, Team Nocebo has provided some preliminary PC requirements. Suppose you’re planning on exploring this snowy nightmare. In that case, you’ll need at least an Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM alongside either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 or even Intel Arc A750 to run it smoothly at 1080p/30FPS on Low/Medium settings.

For those aiming for more visual fidelity at 1080p/High (or even venturing into the realm of 4K/DLSS/High) with solid frame rates at around 60FPS, you’ll want an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X paired with similar RAM but upgraded graphics cards like NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT.

As for when we can expect this frosty adventure? Well, there isn’t an ETA yet, but rest assured that we’ll keep you posted as more information surfaces.
