Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s story DLC, Order of the Giants, will arrive on September 4, Bethesda announced via a new launch trailer. It matters because the DLC costs $35 and has odd purchase rules, and it releases the same day as Hollow Knight: Silksong, leaving September packed for players.
The new launch trailer confirms the September 4 release and shows Indy heading back to Rome to probe the legend of a giant medieval crusader buried under the city. The quest will move between the streets above and the catacombs below.
Nephilim and giant mythology figured in the base game’s plot, so it’s unclear how the DLC will slot into the main story. Does it connect to the Vatican section, come after the main quest, or stand alone in the menu?
The Vatican chapter of The Great Circle was my favorite stretch of, so I’m curious to get more time in that setting. Maybe that’s the idea: more dense urban sandbox play, more tomb-raiding, and less hand-holding. Kinda appeals to me.
Price is weird. The Order of the Giants costs $35, but you can only buy it by grabbing the game’s $100 premium edition or by buying a $35 upgrade from the $70 base game. If you don’t already own Indy, the premium edition is the oddly practical option, even if it feels unfair.
Both Order of the Giants and Hollow Knight: Silksong land on September 4. I love Machine Games’ work, yet I bet Team Cherry will blast past sales numbers this time around.
