How to Open Locked Doors Using ID Scanners in Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 2?

If you’ve noticed, some of the new locations in Fortnite contain a locked room. In that room, a unique AI, which is probably the boss of all the guards scattered around the area. Their job is to defend the POI, but also their boss, which contains a substantial loot. The boss is locked within a room that requires an ID SCAN to enter, but that doesn’t give an incentive at all, knowing that the walls are breakable.

We believe that this might be a bug or lack of communication between the Epic Games’ dev team, so it caused a hole and made those walls destructive. Using a pickaxe should be not allowed to enter behind enemy lines, especially if the person inside holds a valuable loot.

Even though this can be bypassed now and players can storm in through the locked doors, Epic Games might change this in the future. But enough talking, let’s take a look at how exactly you can disguise yourself as a Henchman and open the Locked doors.

In this example we’ll land at The Grotto, the new POI added in Season 2, Chapter 2. Once there, you’ll notice a Phone Booth, similar to the one Superman used a couple of times. Below you can take a look at the picture and how exactly the phone booth looks like.

Once you get next to it, it will tell you to use your action button to Disguise as Henchman. This will earn you the achievement “Undercover Agent,” and then you can proceed to the ID Scanner. Check the image below:

Once you activate the ID Scanner, you need to stay put and do not move, otherwise, you may stop the process, and you need to do it all over again.

Caution: Once transformed, all the Henchmen will become friendlies and won’t shoot at you. Being shot by a human player will get you out of cover and back to your original appearance. So, be careful on your undercover mission.

Now that you know how to open the locked doors, will you go undercover, or will you slam those walls down?
