If you find yourself scrounging through ARC Raiders’ Rust Belt and your gun clicks like an old lawnmower, a Field Crate is the fastest way to top up your loadout. These silver boxes spawn close to Field Depots and the only thing you can do with one is pick it up and haul it back to the depot’s machine. Think of a chunky silver battery on the floor. It cannot be opened or used in place. You pick it up, carrying it with both hands, and your mobility takes a hit, you can sprint but not fire or interact with anything else while you hold the crate.
Field Crates always spawn near a Field Depot. The depot is a small structure marked by a blue tarp and an antenna. When you bring a crate inside the depot, a machine inside highlights the exact spot to drop it. Place the crate there and wait a moment for the loot to arrive in the compartment on the right, then interact with that compartment to claim the goods.
The depot dispenses mostly combat supplies: ammunition, bandages, grenades, and sometimes weapons. Expect Uncommon sidearms occasionally, but mostly expect the consumables that keep a fight rolling. If you want a deeper look at spawn behaviour and loot, our detailed guide on How to find and use Field Crates in Arc Raiders goes further into locations and tactics.
Practical tip: hauling a crate makes you freight. Solo players should move cautiously and use cover; squads should send a teammate to cover the carrier or split up to grab multiple crates because depots often have more than one nearby. If you’re carrying a crate and get ambushed, your options are limited, so plan the route to the depot before you lift anything. In short, look for the silver box, carry it to the depot machine, drop it in the highlighted spot, wait for the compartment to fill, then pick up the loot. It sounds simple because it is, until someone with a shotgun decides otherwise.
