Team Cherry’s Silksong will arrive on both Nintendo Switch consoles when it launches September 4.

Hollow Knight: Silksong from Team Cherry will launch on September 4 and is confirmed for both the Nintendo Switch 1 and the Switch 2 consoles.  Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on the original Nintendo Switch 1, which matters because that console still has a huge install base. Although the game may not run as smoothly on older hardware as it does on newer systems, Team Cherry and publishers typically strive to support a broader audience, and many players will still enjoy a solid experience.

The publisher and developer have a dedicated page you can check for official details; see the Silksong official page for confirmation and FAQs. The larger Switch 2 will also receive the game on launch day, and owners of that model should expect improved framerate and load times compared to the older hardware. Which Switch should you buy then?

If performance matters to you, the Switch 2 is the safer bet, honestly. Discuss this in the comments below and let us know which console you’re using to boot Silksong on.
