In February 2025, Warhorse Studios announced that Hardcore Mode would be coming to the game later this year. With that said, the Hardcore Mode will:
- Remove most of the UI
- Eliminate your player icon from the map so you’ll have no idea where you are
- Lock fast travel, forcing you to ride or walk everywhere
- Introduce various ‘negative perks’ that will change your gameplay dramatically
- Take away cardinal directions from the compass
- Toughen up enemies
- Make debuffs like hunger and fatigue more impactful
