Helldivers 2 players can vote on which planet Super Earth should test its new orbital weapon on after the Democracy Space Station was converted into a firing platform. The studio describes the conversion as creating a “macro-scale laser, capable of generating a high-yield beam optimized for mass Freedom dispensation.” The new weapon is named the Star of Peace and is described as “a Dark Fluid-powered high-yield weapon capable of collapsing an entire planet into a black hole.” The conversion and the weapon details were posted to the official Helldivers 2 account on X, including the initial announcement and follow-up status updates about the station.
Players are asked to open the Galactic Map and access the Democracy Space Station voting panel to choose a target. The three options are Zagon Prime, held by the Terminids; Penta, held by the Automatons; and Valmox, held by the Illuminate. The voting interface enforces a tactical requirement: a planet adjacent to the targeted world must be held by Super Earth at the time of firing, or the system will default to the second choice.
The in-game fine print makes the stakes explicit. It says that “Immediate testing of the Star of Peace will commence when voting closes, liberating the nominated planet permanently” and that “The Ministry of Defense is not responsible for the loss of Helldivers liberating tyranny on the chosen planet at the time of testing.”
MAJOR ORDER: The Star of Peace continues its march toward readiness, with its primary optical array now under construction.

The same update notes that “Dark Fluid reserves are below recommended levels. But concerns of facility damage and personnel loss cannot be allowed to stand in the way of peace.” The first announcement video also showed new Illuminate structures in Super Earth media, which players have spotted and discussed online.
Arrowhead’s leadership has signaled the event will be dangerous to teams that take part. The studio CEO previously warned that “a lot of Helldivers will die” in the next major event, a point the studio has repeated across messaging about the update and its roadmap. The vote is live in the Galactic Map now and will determine which of the three named worlds sees the first live test of the Star of Peace.
