Helldivers 2 is pausing its usual galactic battles to support a great cause. Arrowhead Game Studios has teamed up with the Save the Children Foundation to raise funds through a special charity auction featuring distinct items from the game and the dev team.
This time, instead of blasting bugs, players can contribute to a real-world cause by bidding on some pretty cool collectibles. This partnership is actually Arrowhead’s second collaboration with the charity. Last year, they ran a community event where players chose to save virtual children trapped in a hospital on the planet Vernen Wells rather than go for a powerful new weapon. That choice moved the devs enough to donate to Save the Children in response.
Helldivers 2 Charity Auction Details
If you want to get involved, the auction includes one-of-a-kind items such as:
- Custom B-01 Tactical Helmet signed by the Arrowhead Dev Team
- DualSense Wireless Controller with packaging signed by the devs
- Signed copy of Helldivers 2 on PS5 (US region)
- Super Earth Tote Bag signed by the team
- Original artworks on Japanese Shikishi boards by Arrowhead artists Magnus and Viktor Nystrom
- Printed posters signed by concept artist Gustaf Ekelund
Pretty neat, right? If you’re curious and want to donate directly or check out the auction, you can head over to the official page. It’s a fantastic chance to support a worthy cause while snagging some exclusive Helldivers 2 swag.
Not owning the game yet? The Steam Summer Sale has Helldivers 2 and other titles discounted, which is pretty rare. Also, if you’re a collector, Dark Horse is releasing Helldivers 2 collectibles in collaboration with PlayStation, which they announced a few months back.
Honestly, it’s kinda great to see a game like Helldivers 2 pause its usual chaos to help out real kids. Could more studios follow suit? I sure hope so! What do you think about game devs supporting charities like this? Drop your thoughts below!
