Pliestedt took to X to express his excitement about the player count, stating, “Around 2.5 million Helldivers play the game every week, and I’m super excited to see how many more log in with this update! I’m so happy and blessed that we have such a great community!”

The Heart of Democracy update has brought a fresh wave of players, especially on Steam, where the game hit a 24-hour peak of 163,581 concurrent players. This peak matches the numbers last seen during the December 2024 Omens of Tyranny update, showing that new content continues to attract swarms of players.
Previous updates have also added weapon customization and new Illuminate enemy types, keeping the gameplay fresh and challenging.
Arrowhead Studios is also working on their next game, which won’t be tied to a PlayStation exclusivity deal. This could open up new opportunities for the developer and its fans.
