The creative director of Helldivers 2 recently shared details regarding Arrowhead Game Studios’ involvement with the forthcoming movie adaptation. This insight comes as fans eagerly await more information about how the game will transition to film.
According to a report by VG247, Johan Pilestedt posted a photo of the Helldivers 2 team enjoying a meal together on X. When asked about Arrowhead’s role in the production of the Helldivers movie, Pilestedt replied, “The short answer is yes. The long answer is that we’ll see.”

Pilestedt emphasized that while they are committed to their craft as game developers, they do not possess the expertise required for filmmaking. He stated, “Therefore, we don’t, and shouldn’t, have the final say” in this new venture. This acknowledgment highlights their understanding of industry boundaries and collaboration.
The announcement regarding the Helldivers movie was made by Sony at CES 2025, alongside other adaptations like a live-action Horizon Zero Dawn and an anime version of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
