Hazelight’s latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has quietly but firmly made its mark by selling over 4 million copies within two months of release. This achievement highlights the studio’s knack for crafting memorable cooperative experiences that resonate with players worldwide.
The game initially sold a million copies in just two days, a figure that already hinted at its potential. Publisher EA recently confirmed the successful launch during their financial results, reporting sales shy of four million. Hazelight quickly followed up, celebrating the milestone on their social media: “4 MILLION SOLD!!!!” They expressed gratitude for the community’s love for the characters Mio and Zoe, and the shared moments players have enjoyed. Interestingly, Split Fiction is also in talks of becoming a movie, with Hazelight collaborating with Story Kitchen.
Looking ahead, Hazelight seems committed to continuing its focus on original co-op games. Fares has clarified that the studio will never develop a live service game, regardless of EA’s opinions, emphasizing, “Never. It will not happen with a Hazelight game ever.”
