343 Industries have decided to delay the launch of Halo Infinite, making it ineligible title for the start of Xbox Series X. We feel like we’re living in a world full of delays, and the phenomenon has grown quite a lot during this uncertain time. One’s for sure, Halo Infinite will still release, but in 2021.
To cope with the pain caused by the delay of Halo Infinite, we can comfort ourselves with Microsoft’s release date announcement of the Xbox Series X. The launch of the next-gen console is destined for November 2020, and the miss of Halo Infinite will make it less exciting and less iconic.
These announcements have come out of nowhere as a savage message to all the Halo Infinite fans. It isn’t comforting to hear that Halo Infinite won’t be a part of the Xbox Series X launch. According to the developer:
We know this will be disappointing to many of you and we all share in that sentiment. The passion and support of the community has shown over the years has been incredible and inspiring. We wanted nothing more than to play our game with the community this holiday. The extra time will let us finish the critical work necessary to deliver the most ambitious Halo game ever at the quality we know our fans expect.

Microsoft encourages of a strong Xbox Series X launch, even though Halo Infinite will miss the launch completely:
We have plenty to keep you busy until Chief arrives: There will be thousands of games to play, spanning four generations, when Xbox Series X launches globally this November and over 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles, built to take full advantage of our most powerful console, are planned for this year. And with brand new console features like hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing, framerates up to 120 frames per second, faster loading times, and Quick Resume for multiple games, playing will look and feel better, no matter which games you choose to play on day one.
