Halo Infinite’s Campaign will not include built-in matchmaking

The nostalgic first-person shooter developed by 343 Industries, Halo Infinite, will be at a slight disadvantage once its Campaign component launches. The multiplayer beta test for the campaign is now live, and it doesn’t offer a chance to team up with other players autonomously. Such endeavors won’t be permitted, as a spokesperson from Xbox has already confirmed the same.

Instead of building matchmaking in Halo Infinite, Xbox advises players to use third-party social platforms like Discord. The confirmation arrived through GamesRadar, where the Xbox representative said, “Online matchmaking will not be available with final co-op.” The statement further encourages players to rely on Discord Voice Chat. Recently, Discord Voice has become a part of Xbox, available to Insiders only. It’s expected to roll and become available for everyone very soon.

Halo Infinite fans are somewhat frustrated knowing that Xbox won’t provide them the gameplay experience they craved for. Halo Infinite’s Campaign has been one of the most anticipated components since the initial multiplayer release, and seeing such frustrations is expected. While it may be weird to see a renowned developer such as 343 Industries giving up on this, there is probably another focus stealing the developer’s attention.
