After ten years in the making, the iCEnhancer 4.0 mod for Grand Theft Auto IV has finally been released by modder Hayssam Keilany. This update is a big deal for fans of the game looking to refresh its visuals with current lighting techniques and effects.
iCEnhancer gained popularity in the early 2010s for dramatically improving the game’s graphics, especially sky, clouds, and tree colors. The last major update, version 3.0, came out in 2014, and since then, many wondered if a new version was still in the works. After teasing screenshots in 2022, the mod seemed to have stalled, but it turns out it was worth the wait.
The new version introduces physically-based lighting, which is a first for this mod. That means light interacts with surfaces more realistically, improving the game’s atmosphere. Other enhancements include improved fog and water effects, which should make Liberty City look more lively and alive than ever before. The mod currently works only with game versions 1.0.3.0 and 1.0.4.0, since these versions are best suited for ENB mods like this one.

Besides iCEnhancer, GTA IV fans have plenty of other mods to check out, such as one that restores the game’s multiplayer mode, a car pack featuring vehicles from 1950 to 1993, and a mod that brings a more authentic New York City feel to the game.
