Ghostrunner 2 Shatters Expectations with Over $6 Million in Revenue, Surpassing Production Costs

One More Level’s Ghostrunner 2 has proven to be a major hit, with the game’s revenue surpassing its production costs within days of its release. According to Bankier.pl, the game generated a staggering PLN 24.4 million (approximately $6.13 million) in revenue as of October 31st, just five days after its launch. This impressive feat demonstrates the game’s appeal and growing fanbase.

The total cost of producing Ghostrunner 2 was approximately $4.2 million, which is equivalent to PLN 16.7 million. This indicates that the game not only covered its development expenses but also earned a profit, a significant accomplishment considering the highly competitive gaming market. However, it is not clear whether this amount includes the costs of marketing and advertising. Both the developer and the publisher, 505 Games, have not disclosed any specific sales figures for the sequel yet.

To provide some background, the first installment of “Ghostrunner” was released in October 2020 and has already sold over 2.5 million copies as of September. The follow-up game appears to be on track to continue or even surpass this impressive success. “Ghostrunner 2” is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC, delivering a thrilling combination of high-speed action and innovative gameplay that has resonated very positively with its audience.

Adding to the excitement, the game’s post-launch roadmap includes a variety of additional content. The Season Pass, priced at $19.99, introduces the Ice Pack on December 7th. This pack features new Sword Skins, Hand Skins, and a motorcycle skin. The subsequent release schedule is equally thrilling, starting with the Dragon Pack in February 2024, followed by the Heat Pack in July and the Endless Moto Mode in September. Fans can also look forward to an Anniversary Pack in October 2024.
