G2 Set to Clash with Spirit in BLAST Bounty Round Two

Day four of BLAST Bounty wrapped up with some solid matches that kept the tournament’s favorites undefeated, and no bounties claimed so far. HEROIC took down Complexity, maintaining their streak and proving they’re still a force to reckon with. But what caught everyone’s eye was the draft for round two, where some interesting choices were made.

The day started with ENCE putting up a fight against The MongolZ, only to lose on the final map. The MongolZ pulled off an impressive comeback, winning 12 rounds straight in the decider to keep their hopes alive. Meanwhile, FlyQuest pushed Aurora to overtime on Inferno but ultimately fell short as Aurora dominated Nuke with aggressive plays.

Vitality bounced back from a rough showing in Cologne by dismantling NRG in a two-map series. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Dan “apEX” Madesclaire showed why Vitality stays top-tier, dropping just nine rounds total.

The final match of the first round saw HEROIC field their academy AWPer Rasmus “Scr0b” Poulsen against Complexity. After splitting map picks, the Overpass decider had Complexity leading at halftime, but Scr0b and Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich turned the tide for HEROIC, sealing a 13-11 victory.

Here are some highlights from day four:

When the round two draft came around, G2 made a bold move by selecting Spirit as their opponent, despite options to face lower-ranked teams. G2’s GM, Petar “peca” Marković, mentioned on X that they want to take down one of the biggest names before the LAN final. HEROIC chose Aurora, and Virtus.pro picked FaZe. Legacy got the tough draw against Vitality, one of the few teams to have beaten ZywOo and company this year.

Here’s the full schedule for round two of BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 2:

Date Matches
09/08/2025 Astralis vs Natus Vincere (12:00) Match
09/08/2025 Virtus.pro vs FaZe (14:30) Match

10/08/2025 HEROIC vs Aurora (17:00) Match

Why would G2 pick Spirit over lower-ranked teams? Maybe they want to test themselves against tougher competition before the LAN final. Or perhaps they’re just feeling confident enough to throw down with a top contender right now. Either way, that match on August 9 at 17:00 is gonna be one to watch.
