Forza Horizon 5 opened a new Horizon Backstage vote on January 2, 2026 that puts two brand legacies head-to-head: BMW versus Subaru. Players can cast their choice in-game starting today. The BMW team is fronted by the 1995 BMW 850CSi, a Series 8 model with a 5.5-liter V12 and about 380 bhp at the time, paired with the track-ready 2010 BMW M3 GTS that brings adjustable suspension and racing hardware to the festival.

Team Subaru answers with two cars that lean into the brand’s rally history. The 1996 Subaru SVX carries a 3.3-liter engine and a surprisingly low drag coefficient for its era, while the limited-run 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version celebrates Subaru’s rally success with just 424 examples produced.

This continues the Horizon Backstage duel series and gives players a simple choice, classic German grand touring and track hardware or Subaru’s rally pedigree and special editions. The in-game vote determines which brand gets the spotlight in the next round.
