Fortnite is about to kick off a new season on PS5 and PS4 that’s got a strong Helldivers 2 flavor, complete with some unexpected allies from the worlds of Halo and Power Rangers. If you thought battling pests in Fortnite was just about shooting other players, guess again, this time, the bugs are the real menace.
Starting August 7th, the new season will roll out with a fresh Battle Pass where the Green Ranger awaits as the final unlockable reward. But here’s the thing: the rest of the Power Rangers will hit the Fortnite Item Shop by mid-August, so you might want to start hoarding those V-Bucks. And if you’re wondering about Megazord, completing his quests starting September 16th will bring this iconic giant robot to your arsenal.
Now, what about those bugs? Each round of Battle Royale will recruit you into the OXR to deal with these aggressive insect invasions. As you squish the pests, your rank will climb, and with it, you’ll receive supply drops that guarantee a Mythic weapon. It’s a bit of a climb, but hey, who doesn’t like a guaranteed reward?
Later in the season, you’ll get your hands on the Power Rangers’ legendary Blade Blaster side-arm, adding a legendary flair to your loadout. New locations inspired by the bug outbreaks will pop up on Fortnite Island, and the Hammerhead Choppa will be introduced later on. It’s kinda like Earth Defense Force crashed the party, but with a Fortnite twist.
