A fresh Bob Ross emote just landed in Fortnite, and honestly, it’s a delight for anyone who’s ever admired the legendary painter’s calm and cheerful style. Epic Games continues to surprise us with new ways to have fun, and this one taps into that soothing, creative energy.
Crossovers in Fortnite have included some huge names like DC and Marvel, but this time it’s the favorite painter Bob Ross who’s getting his moment in the spotlight. The emote, called Gentle Painting, allows your character to casually paint a portrait while mellow tunes play. The best part? You might even hear Bob Ross himself saying one of his classic lines at the end.
What to expect from the Bob Ross emote
When you use the Gentle Painting emote, your character will appear to be painting a lovely scene, and you’ll hear one of four possible audio clips, including gems like:
- “Call it finished.”
- “Certainly glad you could join us today.”
- “We don’t make mistakes, you know, we have happy accidents.”
- “We got a happy little tree, it lives right there.”
It’s pretty cool that this emote works with any skin you have. So, whether you’re rocking Kratos, Doom Slayer, or even Master Chief, you can take a break from the battle and get artsy for a bit. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna see Master Chief paint a happy little tree, right?
If you want to add this emote to your collection, it will be available in the Fortnite store for 500 V-Bucks until July 28. That’s not a lot, and you can either earn V-Bucks through the Battle Pass or buy them directly. Just a heads up, this emote won’t be around forever; it’s a limited-time offer and might come back later if Epic decides so.

Wondering if Bob Ross fans will flock to Fortnite just for this? I bet some will, and maybe a few others will just use it as a funny flex during matches. Either way, it’s a nice little surprise that adds a touch of calm to the chaos.
