The latest update for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on PS5 is dropping some fresh features that might catch your eye. SNK is adding 120Hz refresh rate support with VRR and introducing a new campaign featuring none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s a neat boost for fans who want smoother gameplay and a new story to go into.
The game will still run at 60fps, but the 120Hz and VRR options will be available if you have a compatible display. These settings could help reduce input delay and make the game feel smoother in certain situations. It’s not a guaranteed game-changer for everyone, but it’s a welcome addition nonetheless.
Alongside these technical upgrades, the update (v1.21) includes minor balance tweaks and bug fixes. The big highlight? Ronaldo’s campaign is now playable in both arcade mode and the single-player RPG mode Episodes of South Town. These modes were oddly missing at launch, so it’s cool to have them finally.
On July 15, a new game mode update featuring my story is coming!

And if you thought that was all, wait for it: over the weekend, SNK revealed that Street Fighter’s Ken will be joining the roster later this summer. That’s a spicy addition, right? It seems SNK is keen on keeping the updates coming to spark some interest after the game’s sales didn’t quite hit the mark. What do you think about Cristiano Ronaldo stepping into the Fatal Fury world? And will the 120Hz VRR support make you want to jump back into South Town?
