Nintendo has announced that it will unveil 10 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay footage from the highly anticipated sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, tomorrow, March 28th. This comes over a month after the February Nintendo Direct, which showcased a brief two-minute glimpse into the game’s breathtaking environments and innovative movement mechanics.
The gameplay reveal is scheduled for 10 am ET / 7 am PT / 10 pm HKT and will feature series producer Eiji Aonuma as he provides an in-depth look at what the game offers. Nintendo fans can tune in to the showcase on YouTube to watch Aonuma himself play through portions of the game, offering a unique opportunity to learn directly from the game’s creator.
Originally announced at E3 2019, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom serves as a sequel to the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The upcoming title promises a host of new features, including floating islands, never-before-seen enemies, innovative abilities for Link, and the ability to craft and ride various vehicles. Although many aspects of the game remain shrouded in mystery, Aonuma has teased that players can expect “new gameplay that will bring about changes to the game world” as they explore an “unknown” state.
Set to launch on May 12th for the Nintendo Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be priced at $70, marking Nintendo’s first title to adopt this higher price tag. Despite the increase, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser has assured fans that the cost “reflects the type of experience fans can expect.” Additionally, with a file size of 18.2 GB, the game stands as the largest Switch title to date.
