Battlestate Games’ COO Nikita has just confirmed that there will be another Escape From Tarkov wipe. At first, it was said that there would be no wipes at all and that we’d directly go to the release of 1.0, which is the official getaway from the Early Access tag.
In a surprise update today, Battlestate Games’ COO Nikita Buyanov confirmed that Escape From Tarkov will undergo one more wipe before the long-awaited full release of version 1.0. This comes after earlier messaging suggested the game might bypass traditional wipes entirely and transition straight into release, an announcement that stirred both relief and unease in the community.

Wipes in Escape From Tarkov reset all player progress, gear, skills, hideout upgrades—everything. It’s a contentious tradition, meant to level the playing field, encourage new gameplay loops, and test large-scale systems like economy and quest balance.
Players have come to expect at least two wipes a year, but this next one is especially significant. It could very well be the last reset before Tarkov 1.0 goes live.
- Yes, there will be a wipe. Confirmed by BSG’s COO Nikita Buyanov.
- It will happen before 1.0 and likely include new content or mechanical overhauls.
- 1.0 is still coming, but this wipe appears to be the final testing ground before Tarkov sheds its Early Access label.
