If you’re in the mood for something fresh this weekend, Escape From Tarkov: Arena is going to be free to play on PC for a few days. This spinoff from the popular Escape From Tarkov offers a faster-paced multiplayer experience that might be just the change you need.

From July 18 at 9:00 a.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT until July 21 at 9:00 a.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT, players can download the client and try out the game at no cost. You can grab it here.

In addition to the free access, there’s a new chain of in-game quests called “Best Served Cold”. Completing these challenges will reward players with a limited-edition “Grenadier” tactical tee, Battle Pass experience points, BP and GP currency, and Lega medals. It’s a nice little incentive to get started.

If you haven’t played EFT: Arena before, it’s a competitive PvP first-person shooter that blends the hardcore elements of the original Escape From Tarkov with quicker matches and more focused team modes. Matches tend to finish faster, which could be a welcome change for those who find the main game’s pacing a bit too intense sometimes.

This free period comes shortly after Battlestate Games launched the Hardcore Wipe update for the main Escape From Tarkov game. That update has been a bit rough around the edges, so maybe this spinoff’s free access offers a good break for players needing a change of pace.

For those curious about other free options, you may want to check out our list of premium games that have transitioned to free-to-play. You could find some unexpected gems there.
