Escape From Tarkov has grown quite a lot over the past, and to prove that, Battlestate Games is planning on a somewhat different intermission for the next major game update. The game will reveal its shining 12.12 patch via a video trailer scheduled to premiere on December 9, at 9 PM GMT+1.
The YouTube player for the premiere is already up, and you can find it embedded at the top of this article. From there, you can set a reminder for it, so you don’t miss it. The video’s title reveals that Lighthouse (the new and upcoming map in patch 12.12) will be featured in it. The video shares the date with this year’s The Game Awards, so there might be something revealed there too.
This is another undeniable proof that there will be a wipe, and it’s coming sooner than you think. According to the latest Instagram post by Battlestate Games (considering it’s an official source), then wipe and installation of patch 12.12 will happen on December 12, 2021.
The YouTube video contains the following description:
We are glad to present you the trailer for the upcoming Patch 0.12.12 in Escape from Tarkov! Get ready for new location, new hardcore features, new weapons and many other things!
No Streets of Tarkov
It’s pretty apparent that the developer is far from ready for deploying the biggest map in the Tarkov universe yet. The map seems far from polished, and the developers want to take their time doing so. Not to criticize, it is indeed estimated to hold more players than what today’s maps are capable of doing without impacting the performance and ruining the gameplay experience for everyone.
Spoiler Alert
Most of the fans of this beautiful and realistic shooter are aware of an upcoming feature that will probably change the game as a whole. That is the VoIP, which will enable proximity-based voice chat. This is when the mumbles will become obsolete and players will use their own voices to settle or get out of rough situations.
