Enlisted receives the “Scorching Rays” update, adding new weapons, tanks, and an attacker aircraft for Pacific battles. The official Steam announcement from Darkflow Software and Gaijin Entertainment highlights additions to the USA and Japan research trees and details the M1921AC Thompson, Churchill VII, Kawaguchiya shotgun, Chi-Nu II, and Ki-83.
USA
M1921AC Thompson (BR V)
The M1921AC Thompson is placed in the research tree as a submachine gun that trades raw rate of fire for control, thanks to a Cutts Compensator and a front grip. It fires about 1040 rounds per minute and uses a large 50-round drum magazine for sustained close-quarters action. It can dominate rooms when used aggressively.
Churchill VII (BR IV)
The Churchill VII arrives as a late-war heavy tank variant, fitted with a 75 mm OQF Mk.V gun and thicker frontal armor. Its beefed-up protection aims to give Allied crews a more durable option on defensive fronts.
Japan
Kawaguchiya shotgun (BR I)
The Kawaguchiya double-barreled shotgun is introduced with a bayonet lug, letting infantry switch instantly from ranged to melee combat. The added bayonet gives the weapon a dual role that suits tight corridors and island skirmishes.
Chi-Nu II (BR IV)
The Chi-Nu II continues the Chi-Nu line with a 75 mm Type II Model II cannon that improves penetration over its predecessor. Designed for homeland defense under Operation Ketsugō, the real vehicle never saw combat, but in Enlisted it will take the field against Allied forces.
Ki-83 (BR IV)
The Mitsubishi Ki-83 is presented as a long-range twin-engine attacker and interceptor meant to counter late-war Allied aircraft. With two Mitsubishi Ha-211 radial engines it could exceed 700 km/h and, as an attacker, will give Japanese pilots a high-speed option for intercepting enemy formations at range.
These additions widen role choices in the Pacific battles, with new low-tier close-quarters options and heavier mid-tier vehicles for both sides. Players will likely see shifts in tactics where these units appear on the map.
