We all know that fairness in competitive play is all we care about, but recently, there have been many waves regarding security in not just Apex Legends but many other games, too. The most recent shock has been relayed through Apex Legends when hackers have been able to infiltrate themselves and add aimbots to contestants’ PCs. All of this during live streams, too.

While many have accused Easy Anti-Cheat, they have also jumped in to address the accusations of potential RCE exploit and vulnerability. The service offered by Easy Anti-Cheat is widely respected, and this is considered an enormous flaw. An RCE vulnerability could allow actors to execute arbitrary codes on users’ computers remotely.

As per Easy Anti-Cheat, their recent investigation of a potential RCE issue within their anti-cheat has proven negative, saying “there is not such a vulnerability within EAC“. This is what they said on X:

We have investigated recent reports of a potential RCE issue within Easy Anti-Cheat. At this time – we are confident that there is no RCE vulnerability within EAC being exploited. We will continue to work closely with our partners for any follow up support needed

— Easy Anti-Cheat (@TeddyEAC) March 18, 2024

We know that this shook the competitive scene quite a lot, and no one knows why, and how all of this happened. Easy Anti-Cheat has also said that they are working with their partners to investigate this further, and will provide any support if necessary. Considering the scale of recent events, if such an issue existed in Easy Anti-Cheat, it would’ve appeared in other games too. So far, there’s nothing, so no one really knows what really happened.

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
