EA’s Magic FPS Immortals of Aveum Pushed Back by a Month for Further Optimization

Today, Ascendant Studios, in collaboration with publishing giant EA, has announced a delay in releasing their eagerly awaited magic first-person shooter, Immortals of Aveum. Originally scheduled to debut on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 20, the game will launch a month later on August 22.

In an official statement released by Ascendant Studios, co-founder Bret explained the reasons behind the delay. The move to reschedule the launch has been attributed to the need for additional polishing of the game, optimization across all platforms, and the overall aim of ensuring a solid launch.

The statement read, “In order to realize our full vision, we are going to take a few extra weeks, making our new launch date Tuesday, August 22nd. This will give us time to further polish the game, finish optimizing all platforms, and deliver a strong launch. We owe it to ourselves and to you to get this right.”

Immortals of Aveum has been quite hyped in recent weeks. The initial gameplay trailer, with recent hands-on previews, garnered immense excitement among gamers. The game was also named one of the most anticipated games at the Summer Game Fest, an honor that speaks volumes about its potential.

The game is the first venture by Ascendant Studios as a self-funded independent studio, which set out five years ago with the ambitious goal of creating an original Magic FPS in a new fantasy world. Despite significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessity to build a new team, the studio’s commitment to the project never wavered.

Developed on Unreal Engine 5.1, the game represents a pioneering effort to push the boundaries of gaming technology and design. With this delay, it is clear that Ascendant Studios is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the final product lives up to its high expectations.

Despite the slight setback, anticipation continues to mount for this innovative new addition to first-person shooters. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more information about the game in the coming weeks, and Ascendant Studios and EA have thanked them for being part of this exciting journey.
